Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is an effective therapy using traditional Indian techniques derived from ayurvedic medicine. You sit comfortably in a chair to enjoy your massage and you do not need to remove any clothing - although it helps if you wear a strappy top or vest for your Indian Head Massage session. No oils are used in this massage although your hair will be disturbed. The massage is performed on the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, face and scalp. Stress affects major muscle groups in the neck and shoulders and Indian Head Massage often brings immediate relief as tension is eased and knots and nodules are removed. Indian Head Massage helps improve the efficiency of the circulatory and lymphatic systems and as toxins are thrown out from tense muscles, flexibility and fluidity of movement are restored.
Indian Head Massage begins with work on the neck and shoulders, and involves deep kneading and probing of the muscles. There is no crunching or cracking of joints, though, as this is a subtle and gentle therapy. The head is worked next, and the scalp is squeezed, rubbed and gently tapped before the acupressure points are gently worked upon. The hair is briskly tussled and lightly combed, and the ears are pressed and lightly tugged. The final stage of the massage works on acupressure points on the face to relieve any sinus pressure, stimulate the circulation and increase alertness.
Indian Head Massage soothes away stress and promotes optimum health. The client breathes more deeply, releasing suppressed emotions and negative energy. There is space for more positive feelings to grow and this simple massage offers the client a powerful source of energy, relaxation and rejuvenation.
