Body Massage Diploma Courses (including Anatomy & Physiology)

Reiki Energy offers a range of exciting accredited Body Massage training options, including Holistic Massage, Ayurveda (Indian) Body Massage (Abhyanga), Deep Tissue, Thai Hot Herbal Compress, Himalayan Salt Stone & Crystal Therapy and Hot Stone Massage. All courses include A&P and Professional Standards for beginners - but you don't have to repeat these if you already have a qualification.

These are some of the most popular therapies, taught by blended learning to make them affordable and accessible for students with jobs, homes and families to manage! You do your theory work online in your own time, then come for practical training one to one or in a tiny group which means you have lots of tutor time and attention to help you learn quickly and effectively. All the courses are accredited by Professional Ethical Practitioners and/or the Beauty Guild/Guild of Holistic Therapists so they are insurable for professional practice. You can also look at an independent broker such as Westminster Indemnity Prices and dates for all courses are on the Home Page.

Practical training is one, two or three days depending on the massage therapy chosen. Practical courses will always go ahead once booked, as we do not cancel due to low numbers. When you are ready to book your training package, go along to Booking your Course and Getting Insurance and look for the drop down box called Professional Massage Courses - options for day and evening training will be listed. Check for dates first, or contact me to arrange a date if required, as some courses are always by arrangement at no extra fee. Do email us to confirm your date.

Your theory certificates come from GTi, the training arm of the Guild of Holistic Therapists, and are the basis for all therapy training - once you have them, you will be able to do any of my courses! The combination of online theory teaching combined with intensive practical training in a small group means you learn quickly, without months of trekking around to weekend sessions and exams. And it is a more cost-effective way of doing a massage training for you too!

Holistic Massage Diploma

Holistic (Swedish) Massage Diploma - Two Day Practical Training plus A&P

Swedish or Holistic Massage gently manipulates the body’s soft tissue (the skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments) with the hands in a gentle, flowing massage technique that uses varying degrees of pressure and stretching movements. It is most commonly used for relaxation and stress management, improving overall well-being and promoting blood circulation and lymphatic drainage.

This course is a Full Body Holistic Massage Practitioner’s Diploma Course, accredited by Professional Ethical Practitioners and Beauty Guild/Guild of Holistic Therapists. You will receive two separate qualifications - GTi Anatomy & Physiology level 3 NOS, and your Holistic Body Massage Diploma. After being awarded this Diploma, students will be able to obtain insurance to practice full body Holistic Massage professionally, either with Professional Ethical Practitioners or Beauty Guild/Guild of Holistic Therapists with independent brokers like Westminster Indemnity direct online.

The A&P qualification is the foundation for all our massage and holistic courses, and once you have it you will not have to repeat anatomy and physiology for any of our training options.

You benefit from a relaxed, supportive environment for your days of practical learning. You will gain confidence in carrying out the full range of holistic/Swedish massage movements and will know how to combine them to give a full one-hour massage, adapted to the needs of different clients. Your practical assessment will be a simple test of the knowledge gained on the course, and you will carry out a client consultation and a massage treatment. All the material for the test is covered in your manuals and it is straightforward. After the practical assessment, positive feedback is given, with help to enable you to improve and develop your skills. As long as you complete the course successfully, you will get your certificate on the day and gain insurance to go home and practise.

Course content of the practical days:

o Benefits of massage
o History of massage
o Massage sequence and use of oils in massage
o Client aftercare
o Test of knowledge
o Practical assessment

When you are ready to book your course, email us to arrange your place and pay your deposit. If you want to book the course, start your A&P and organise your practical days later then just email to say so. We are flexible. If you bring a model, we'll even do a one to one at no extra charge!

Aromatherapy Diploma Course

Aromatherapy Course - Three Days Practical plus A&P by Distance Learning

The Aromatherapy Massage Practitioner Diploma is a blended learning course and includes the popular Guild-accredited Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology online home study module. The course is exclusive to Reiki Energy and Yorkshire Massage & Beauty Courses as I wrote it myself, and have taught it for a number of years.

You start with the anatomy and physiology course and this is followed by a 3-day practical aromatherapy massage course. At the end of the practical course we will carry out an assessment of your practical aromatherapy blending and massage skills and you will complete a short written test based on the information in your course notes.

This means that you will receive two qualifications - a stand-alone GTi Level 3 qualification in Anatomy and Physiology and the London Therapists Practitioner Diploma in Aromatherapy Massage, written to level 3 NOS standards. The A&P qualification is the foundation for all our holistic training and you will not have to repeat A&P if you decide to do another of our massage courses.

If you are already a therapist with an anatomy and therapy qualification, then all you will need to do is the three day practical and assessment. Prices and dates for the course are on the Home Page.

Our core manual, containing health and safety information along with other material which all therapists need to know, will be sent to you so that you can study before you attend on the course dates.

During the practical part of the course we will look at the theory required to become a professional aromatherapy massage therapist, including consultation, contraindications, aftercare, the history and benefits of aromatherapy massage and the characteristics and uses of a selection of carrier and essential oils.

As part of our practical work, we will explore the characteristics and uses of several carrier oils such as sweet almond, sunflower and olive oil, and look at a range of essential oils like lavender, clary sage and geranium. A full student kit is available for this course and it contains a wide enough range to enable you to get started with aromatherapy massage.

This course is an Aromatherapy Massage Practitioner’s Diploma Course, and is designed for those who wish to become professional aromatherapy massage therapists. Ayurveda means 'the wisdom of life' and is an ancient Indian system of healing which involves herbs, yoga and massage. This course introduces the principles of Ayurveda and will teach you how to analyse your client's Ayurvedic body type. You will learn about the traditional uses of oils in massage, and how to select the right ones for your clients. Ayurveda massage has its own set of massage moves and we will teach you how to use these in a full one-hour massage routine to use with your clients.

The course includes a lot of information about diet, lifestyle and keeping healthy using the principles of ancient Indian wisdom. This is a valuable addition to a massage therapist's skills, and it will also be of interest to yogis and to yoga teachers. I teach this course in West Yorkshire and it is exclusive to Reiki Energy and Yorkshire Massage & Beauty as I wrote it myself and gained accreditation for it.

Body Massage Courses for New Therapists. Library Image: Back Massage

Beautiful Backs Course

This course combines two skills to teach you an up-to-date treatment which is very popular with clients who want to wear swimwear, strappy tops halter-necked dresses. You will learn a perfect, relaxing massage of the back, neck and shoulders with beautiful oils or cream AND a treatment to help the condition of the skin in these areas.

Many clients have issues with their backs - blemishes, oily irritated skin, dry skin or overexposure to the sun. The back facial or 'bacial' is proving a popular option with both men and women clients.

The first stage of the treatment is a scrub to thoroughly cleanse the back, followed by a mask to help improve circulation and the texture of the skin. Finally, an appropriate mix of natural oils or a luxurious massage cream is used to carry out a holistic massage of the back, neck and shoulder areas.

We will use a variety of different products and oils during the course and you will learn about their different properties and uses. You will learn how to mix your own carrier oil blends, scrubs and masks as well as how to select and use suitable products from trade sources.

There are lots of options for adding your own signature to this treatment, from producing bespoke handmade scrubs and masks to using luxurious organic products from exclusive suppliers. The course offers you the opportunity to learn new techniques and combine them into a therapy that will suit your clients perfectly!

This is a couch-based massage therapy although you could also use a futon or yoga mat on the floor. The clothing does need to be removed from the upper body and the client should be draped appropriately.

This is an excellent course for total massage beginners! It is a good opportunity to try out a body massage therapy and see whether you want to do a full Holistic Massage course.

Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage is one of the most popular treatments, so this is a wonderful chance to learn something you can use straight away with clients!

You do not need Anatomy & Physiology to do this course as all the relevant theory is included. Assessment of your practical skills will be continuous throughout the day, with emphasis on your final treatment. There will also be a short written test.

The course is accredited by Professional Ethical Practitioners for membership and insurance. You can also insure direct with Westminster Indemnity from this website. You may be able to
add it to your existing policy if you are already a therapist but please do check as some companies and professional bodies will only insure courses run by their own members.

When you are ready to book, email to confirm your dates, and we will explain how to pay for your course.
